It was launched in August, 2017 when the android 8 update was near and who purchased this device in January or later got oreo out of the box since then you have provided only one update pie update. Just because you're not updating Note8, many Note8 users would go for other brands like Apple and Google who update their older devices. In my opinion you should update your devices too. You are losing your customers Samsung all the best All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic 1 Solution Options Mark as New Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Permalink Print Report Inappropriate Content i am strictly note series user. i haven't touch any phone besides note series since first note. i am also planning to go for one plus next time. samsung needs to update their policies. they will surely lose customers. they are unfair to note series since beginning. the event goes like this.- s series lauch with latest android.- lauch of new android- note series with old android version- note after 3 month and s series after a year updated to new version. again s series lauch with new series recives first major update within 3 month whereas s series receives first major update after a year. 15 Comments Previous 1 2 Next Options Mark as New Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Permalink Print Report Inappropriate Content 01-21-2020 0710 PM Last edited 01-21-2020 0728 PM in Galaxy Note Vicky455 that is the issue that they "treat all phone equally" ,midrange and flagship. if i paid 64k for a phone double of current midrange than i expect it to be given more importance over mid rangers. if they are providing update for last year mid range phones then flagship atleast deserves 3 major updates. anyway note series always launch with outdated android version and they update it in jan after 3 month of launch which is unfair. Its better to deti Apple or Google even one plus 6 is getting android 10 update which was launched before Note 8 Options Mark as New Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Permalink Print Report Inappropriate Content i am strictly note series user. i haven't touch any phone besides note series since first note. i am also planning to go for one plus next time. samsung needs to update their policies. they will surely lose customers. they are unfair to note series since beginning. the event goes like this.- s series lauch with latest android.- lauch of new android- note series with old android version- note after 3 month and s series after a year updated to new version. again s series lauch with new series recives first major update within 3 month whereas s series receives first major update after a year. Please read carefully what he has stated that the note 8 devices which were launched after the release of Android 8 got this update out of technically he was saying that the user which has gotten oreo out of the box should get the Android 10 update because they have only gotten one update Android I cleared him that it will count 2 OS updates whether it was released with oreo or nougat out of box. And before replying anything please read the OP carefully. Peace. Samsung is very clever while launching their note series they release their note series just before the next android update so that they can update their devices to upcoming android and has to give just one more update. On the other hand S series launches near February & March and has latest android update. Like S11/20 is coming and it will have Android 10 and will have 2 major updates while note series launches in September/October when new android update is around the corner. Samsung must give atleast 3 updates for their Note series and if they do so Note users would be happy. Previous 1 2 Next
Samsung’s customer reps keep saying that the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 will get Android 10, despite the company’s official roadmap. Again. So maybe, just maybe, Samsung has changed its mind? It seems unlikely, but let’s review the facts so September 2019 Samsung announced its decision not to update the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 phones to Android 10 despite being its 2017 flagship. The shameless decision fell in line with previous upgrade policy from the Korean company, but it still was especially surprising because Samsung is updating the Galaxy A7 to Android 10. That’s a phone that arguably has much less firepower than the S8 and that was released in the same year. The decision to not support its 2017 flagship is entirely a marketing one, not a technical one. Simply, if you want a flasgship with the latest and greatest OS, you must burn your credit card into a new Galaxy or Note every two years — period. Compare that to Apple, who last year released iOS 13 for every iPhone all the way down to the iPhone 6s and the humble iPhone SE, which were released in 2015 and 2016, respectively.Image credit AndroidPureBut I digress. Regardless of this being a shameless and shameful planned obsolescence move, in November 2019 we got a glimmer of hope Samsungs customer care told a “disgruntled Galaxy S8 owner” that his phone will get the Android 10 update after course, this may have been a glitch in the Matrix — a lone and embarrassed customer rep telling a user what he wanted to hear. But today SamMobile reports of new signs from Samsung’s customer care, whose reps are still repeating the same thing the Galaxy S8 and the Note 8 will get the Android 10 update in 2020. Here’s a screenshot of an exchangeImage credit SamMobileAgain, it could still be a case of reps saying whatever in error. But it seems that there may be a pattern here. Could this be true? Are these two models really “eligible to receive the new Android 10 version“? Is deployment really happening “during this year 2020”?We can only hope so.
